In the area of romance it’s not unusual to not be attentive enough to convey one’s true feelings about how much you care about the other person. You would be surprised at how easy it is to show someone how much you love them. Here’s 10 ways to communicate your love to that special person:

  1. REMEMBER THAT SPECIAL DAY… Make a list of those special days (bear with me, men…) like, the day we met, our anniversary, first kiss, etc… and do something special (doesn’t have to be much) send a card, schedule a special meal, celebrate with a special night out… something that says,”I care,” or, “You are so special to me.”
  2. REMEMBER YOUR LOVER’S PET… If your partner has a pet (like a catm or dog, etc…) on that upcoming special occassion, when you by a gift for your special person, also buy a small gift for his/her special, “person,” (animal). Sincerity will ring-though in support of your special remembrance.
  3. ROMANTIC PICNIC… Unbenknownst you your loved one, prepare a romantic picnic basket filled with fresh fruit, strawberries, small sandwiches. Invite your partner to lunch, drive to a secluded area of a park (or some other more secluded destination of your choice), spread out your blanket on the ground, your romantic lunch and top it off with a glass of champagne.
  4. CHILD-LIKE LOVE NOTE A crudely made child-like note made out of constuction paper and decorated with crayons can make a charming statement of adoration. Have it fold in half and feature a big red heart on the front. When opened, have it say something cute, like, “I love you!” Follwed by, “Do you love me?” Then invite him/her to check one of several boxes. Next to each empty check box put alternating juvenile answer options, like: [  ] No, your feet stink  [  ] Maybe, let me think about it  [  ] Yes, but only a little bit  [  ]  Yes, and I want to marry you… (you get the idea. Have fun with it). The put it in a place where it will be discovered unexpectedly (like in their lunch, in a book that they’re reading, or uder their pillow.
  5. REGULAR VISIT SURPRISE If he or she is accustomed to you just opening the door and allowing yourself into the abode, stop in front of the door and ring the doorbell. When he or she opens the door, greet him or her with an, “I love you,” a kiss and a bottle of wine.
  6. ALL IT TAKES IS 20 MINUTES I know we’re all busy and sometimes it’s hard to find the time to be, “romantic.” You would be surprised at the impact that it will have to make a hand-written gift certificate good for anything your partner wants to do for 20 minutes redeemable at any time. Giving 20 minutes every day, will take your relationship to new levels.
  7. PERSONALS ESCAPE AD Place a personal ad in the newspaper for your partner to enjoy an all expenses paid evening out on the town (or some other appropriate offer)… And I like adding the line, “Use Coupon Code,” 1LOVE42 (or some other clever code that you make up) for flavor.
  8. PICNIC ON THE BED Surprise your love with a picnic-style smorgasbord of favorite snack food items, to include some wine, cheese, chocolates and strawberries, etc… atop of your bed. You can spice up the atmosphere by lighting candles, playing some of his or her favorite music in the background.
  9. CHARITY FROM THE HEART If you lover has a particular charity that they are fond of, make a donantion to that charity in his/her name. Include the receipt in a card that expresses your feelings.
  10. SECRET LOVE SIGNALS Spend a bit of time making up hand signals or gestures and assigning personal, romantic meanings to them. Then use them in public, sending each other secret messages, surrounded by lots of people. Onlookers don’t have a clue…

You can never have enough romantic tips in your arsenal of love, so for your more provocative research, here are the top 10 selling books on how to supercharge the romance in your relationship:

1. All the Rules: Time-tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right

Price: $9.99

For the first time in one volume–in a special oversized format–comes “The Rules” and “The Rules II,” the phenomenal bestsellers that captured the interest of millions of readers in search of Mr. Right. Original.

All the Rules: Time-tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right teaches women to be courteous to themselves and their friends. We shouldn’t break plans with friends or avoid making weekend plans in the hopes that the guy will call last minute. We shouldn’t sit by the phone waiting to pick up after half a ring. We SHOULD resist the temptation to find excuses to call, and the temptation to bend over backwards for him without getting the same treatment in return. We SHOULD expect romantic and thoughtful gifts–measured by effort, not by cost–from someone who loves us. We SHOULD keep our own lives, our own interests, keep ourselves feeling valued with or without a guy. We SHOULD keep our distance emotionally until after we’re sure instead of turning a boyfriend into a pro bono therapist…or we turn ourselves into wrecks over a short-term relationship.

2. The Heart of the Five Love Languages

Price: $5.99

People express and receive love in different ways. Dr. Gary Chapman identifies these as the five languages of love: quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service and physical touch. If you express love toward others in a way they don’t understand, they will not realize you’ve expressed your love at all. The problem is that you’re speaking different languages! Abridged version of the  New York Times bestselling title.

Dr. Gary Chapman reveals how different people express love in different ways. Here, at last, is the key to understanding each other’s unique needs.  Apply the right principles, learn the right language, and soon you’ll know the profound satisfaction and joy of being able to express your love–and feeling truly loved in return.

He sends you flowers when what you really want is time to talk. She gives you a hug when what you really need is a home-cooked meal. The problem isn’t your love–it’s your love language!

3. If Only He Knew: What No Woman Can Resist

Price: $5.99

A how-to book for men that seeks to clarify distinctions between the sexes with a view toward building a stronger marital relationship with this understanding.

Do you want your wife to: – understand you? – appreciate you? – be more responsive sexually? – support you during hard times? – admire you? – share your interests? – listen to what you have to say?

4. Relationship Rescue: A Seven-Step Strategy for Reconnecting with Your Partner

Price: $7.99

As a follow-up to his bestselling book Life Strategies, Oprah acolyte Phillip C. McGraw, Ph.D., moves from aiding the aimless individual to coaching the disconnected couple. McGraw has distilled his more than two decades of counseling experience into a seven-step strategy he calls “Relationship Rescue.”

“I’m prepared to kick a hole in the wall of the pain-ridden, unhappy maze you’ve gotten yourself into, and provide you clear access to action-oriented answers and instructions on what you must do to have what you want,” says Dr. Phil. His aim is to expose and eliminate the saboteurs that cause senseless damage to already-fragile marriages, and, like an emotional root canal, to replace them with values he says provide positive results. If you follow Dr. Phil’s strategy, he will lead you on a precise journey to uncover your heart and then share it with your partner as part of taking the “risk of intimacy.”

Dr. Phil leads you to “reconnect with your core” in the first five steps of his seven-step strategy. By no means a quick fix, there are in-depth and rigorous questionnaires, surveys, tests, and profiles that require a “brutally candid” mindset, with such fill-in-the-blanks as “List five things that today would make you fall out of love with your partner.” With this internal work accomplished, you’ll then move on to reconnecting with your partner during a two-week, half-hour-a-day short course. As a “dyad,” you and your loved one take turns giving monologues on topics such as “The most positive thing I took away from my mother and father’s relationship was…”

Once the “reconnection” has been established, Dr. Phil says the work shifts to a management role, as relationships are always a work in progress. Dr. Phil humorously refers to his own marriage throughout the book, sharing his mishaps and victories in learning to accept and enjoy what he sees as fundamental but complementary differences between men and women.

5. How to Love Me: The Lovers’ Book of Questions

Price: $9.95

Geared specifically to women and the men who care for them, How to Love Me is designed to heat up and enhance a couple’s relationship. Filled with probing, inventive questions on love and sex, it’s sure to elicit eye-opening answers and take lovers on an exciting journey of discovery. Most important of all, the guide helps women and men express their true feelings to their partners and reveal exactly how they want to be loved, emotionally and physically. The questions range from the quirky to the serious, inquiring into expectations, hopes, dreams, and desires. From your turn-ons to taboos, feelings towards your partner to thoughts about marriage, these questions allow you to articulate it all!

6. What Women Don’t Know (and Men Don’t Tell You): The Unspoken Rules of Finding Lasting Love

Price: $8.99

What You Don’t Know about Yourself Will Hinder You.
What You Don’t Know about Men Will Hurt You.
What You Don’t Know about Relationships Will Cost You.
Why does the modern-day search for romance so often end in disappointment, especially for women? Is it something we do? Something we don’t do? Are we missing important information about the opposite sex—or about ourselves? Is there something wrong with us that we long so desperately for “til death do us part”?
Sadly, many women today see their ongoing singleness as a weakness or lack of worth. In truth, our dreams go unfulfilled not because we do not deserve for them to come true, but often because of wrong assumptions—assumptions that can easily be corrected.
Drawing on both male and female perspectives, this book deals with the hard issues and questions you and other women ponder as you consider how to obtain lasting love. What Women Don’t Know (and Men Don’t Tell You) will help you adjust your desires, redefine what you are attracted to, set your values in order, and determine your goals—freeing you at last to pursue the loving relationship you desire.

7. Are You the One for Me?: Knowing Who’s Right and Avoiding Who’s Wrong

8. The Soulmate Secret: Manifest the Love of Your Life with the Law of Attraction

List Price: $15.99
Price: $10.87
You Save: $5.12 (32%)

Have you ever wondered what it takes to find the love of your life? Is it your dream to find a life partner who will love, cherish, and adore you? The Soulmate Secret will show you how to take control of your romantic destiny by using the Law of Attraction. Translated into more than twenty languages, The Soulmate Secret has become an international phenomenon.

Now with a new preface and a new chapter filled with book-inspired success stories, this book shows finding true love is possible for anyone at any age if you are willing to prepare yourself, on all levels, to become a magnet for love. Arielle Ford knows this from experience. She used the techniques in this book to bring her soulmate into her life at age forty-four. They were engaged three weeks later.

This ancient formula reveals that our universe is set up to deliver the people and things into our lives that are consistent with our personal belief system. If you don’t believe you will ever find the One, then guess what? You probably won’t. If, however, you learn to believe that the One is not only out there but is also looking for you, then true love can be yours.

Using a series of processes called feelingizations—feeling in every cell of your being the outcome you want to create—Ford reveals how to manifest the man or woman of your dreams. The techniques, rituals, and projects found within these pages will allow you to prepare your home, body, mind, and spirit for the lover your heart truly desires.

9. Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts: Seven Questions to Ask Before and After You Marry

This is more than a book—it’s practically a self-guided premarital counseling course, and it is used by counselors and churches across the country and, now in ten languages, worldwide. Questions at the end of every chapter help you explore each topic personally. Companion men’s and women’s workbooks* full of self-tests and exercises help you apply what you learn and enjoy intimate discussions along the way.

Relationship experts Les and Leslie Parrott show you the secrets to building a marriage that lasts. * Uncover the most important misbeliefs of marriage * Learn how to communicate with instant understanding * Discover the secret to reducing and resolving conflict * Master the skills of money management * Get your sex life off to a great start * Understand the three essential ingredients to lasting love * Discover the importance of becoming ‘soul mates’ … and more. Make your marriage everything it is meant to be. Save your marriage—before (and after) it starts.

10. Holy Sex – Song of Solomon

Price: $7.95

God created his children as sexual opposites, and designed marriage to be the context of erotic pleasure. While the church has been mostly silent on the subject of sex, the world and the devil have attempted to make it their domain.
The church has rightly proclaimed the biblical prohibitions on the misuse of sex, but it has failed to speak out on the godliness of erotic pleasure in the context of marriage.
Out of the 66 books composing the Bible, one whole book is dedicated to promoting erotic pleasure — the Song of Solomon. Michael Pearl takes his readers through a refreshing journey of the Biblical texts. This sanctifying look at the most powerful passion God ever created will free the reader from false guilt and inhibition. Michael Pearl says, “It is time for Christian couples to take back this sacred ground and enjoy the holy gift of sexual pleasure.”
This material is intended for mature audiences. Don’t read this book unless you are married, have definite plans to be married in the next few weeks, or are an older teenager whose parents have first read it and approve of you doing so.
If you don’t think God meant for sex to be fun, this book is definitely for you!
